Institute of Hospitality Fellows Dinner

This year the Institute of Hospitality Fellows Dinner was held at The Landmark Hotel in London.

Sam Cousltock, Antonio Fernandez and Monica Or FIH

This annual event welcomes in new Fellows to the Institute of Hospitality. These are individuals that have shown their dedication and commitment to the industry and held a senior management position for at least the last five years. Their full criteria can be found on the Institute of Hospitality Membership Grades page. Fellows of the Institute of Hospitality can use the designatory letters FIH after their name.

The evening started with a Champagne Reception in the Grand Ballroom with time to network with other Fellows and their guests. We were then called to dinner and  welcomed by Peter Ducker, the Chief Executive for the Institute of Hospitality, as the new Fellows were welcomed and presented. Our Hospitality Superhero Adam Rowledge spoke about the importance of being a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality and what it means to him.

Adam is the General Manager at The Georgian House Hotel, an independent property in Pimlico. He is also the Chair of the Sussex Branch for the Institute of Hospitality and on the Supervisory Board for the Institute as well.

It was great to see so many members of our Hospitality Superheroes Facebook group members also in attendance. Pictured above with me are Sam Coulstock, Business Relations Director for Umbrella Training and Antonio Fernandez, Premium Kitchen Manager at Alpha LSG Ltd, both of whom are also members of the Institute of Hospitality London branch committee and served alongside me when I was the Chair for the London branch previously.

After a delicious dinner, Alistair Storey, President for the Institute spoke about the challenges ahead for the hospitality industry, particularly with the implications from Brexit. If you are unsure of what to do in these challenging times then remember our Hospitality Superheroes group is there to support you. If you are not already a member you are most welcome to join us. Do post up a short introduction and tell us more about yourself and  if you have any questions, your hospitality colleagues will come to your rescue and be your hospitality superhero.
