Last night I was delighted to host my official book launch for ‘Star Quality Talent – Inspiring Hospitality Careers’, my latest book. Held at Cafe Spice Namaste with Chef Patron Cyrus Todiwala OBE DL, it was a way to celebrate not only the launch, but also to thank those that contributed to the book. The launch was also sponsored by my partners Hospitality Post and the Academy of Hospitality.
Due to the constant negative press that hospitality receives I thought it was time to spread the positive news of actually how great this industry really is. The main purpose of the book is to promote the hospitality industry as a fabulous place to work and have a fulfilling career.
Within the book are the inspirational stories and advice from hospitality professionals working in the industry and in the many organisations that can help individuals gain a rewarding career in hospitality. Regardless of their background, whether a school leaver, university graduate, career returner, career changer, ex offender or someone who has fallen on hard times there is an hospitality organisation that can help them.
There are links in the book to the 24 video interviews with these professionals that can be viewed online. There is also a section with my HOSPITALITY guidance on the attitude and behaviour required of someone who is thinking of working in our industry.
When first released on Amazon it was promoted as their Number 1 Hot New Release and has consistently been in the Amazon Best Sellers list for Kindle Business, Hospitality, Travel and Tourism.
Supporting Hospitality Action
One of the organisations interviewed for the book is Hospitality Action. There is information on the great charity work they carry out to support those working and retired from the hospitality industry on page 121. You can watch their video here:
To support them in my own little way I will be donating 10% of book sales from the launch as well as £1 for every review posted up on Amazon. I do need your help to support Hospitality Action, so please do remember to review the book. If you were unable to attend the launch, the book is available in paperback and in Kindle format on Amazon. The more reviews posted, the more I will be donating to this worthy cause. So spread the word, feel free to repost and share this blog far and wide.
Target: 100 Amazon Reviews
We need to get this book in to the hands of those that are unfamiliar with the wonderful world of hospitality and introduce them to it.
